Message by our Spiritual Director Rev. Fr. Joy Chembakassery, OSB

Ocean Star Ministries is a Spirit-led initiative that responds beautifully to the needs of our present time. By opening simple and accessible paths for ordinary people to encounter the Word of God, this ministry nurtures a living faith rooted in prayer, Scripture, and daily life. I deeply appreciate its focus on empowering lay people of all ages to participate in evangelization with sincerity, humility, and perseverance. I pray that Ocean Star Ministries may continue to grow under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, becoming a blessing to many and bearing abundant fruit for the Kingdom of God.

Rev. Fr. Joy Chembakassery, OSB is a Benedictine priest of the Order of Saint Benedict (OSB) and the Director of the Benedictine Retreat Centre, Makkiyad, Wayanad, Kerala. Rooted in the rich spiritual tradition of St. Benedict, his priestly ministry emphasizes prayer, discernment, obedience to the Word of God, and pastoral accompaniment.

Fr. Joy is widely known for his deep commitment to spiritual renewal, retreat ministry, healing and deliverance, and the proclamation of the Word of God. Through retreats, conventions, and pastoral outreach, he has guided countless individuals and families toward inner healing, reconciliation, and a renewed relationship with Christ.

He conducts a wide range of spiritual retreats and pastoral programs, including inner healing retreats, deliverance retreats, Bible-based renewal retreats, parish missions, family retreats, youth retreats, retreats for priests and religious, and special prayer conventions. Through these ministries, he helps participants encounter Christ personally, experience spiritual freedom, and grow in a deeper life of prayer, faith, and conversion.

As a spiritual guide, Fr. Joy places strong emphasis on listening to the Holy Spirit, fidelity to the teachings of the Church, and nurturing a personal encounter with Jesus through Scripture and prayer. His ministry reaches priests, religious, and lay faithful alike, helping them discern God’s will and live their vocation with faith and courage.

In his role as one of the Spiritual Directors of Ocean Star Ministries, Rev. Fr. Joy Chembakassery, OSB offers prayerful guidance, pastoral wisdom, and spiritual encouragement. His presence supports the ministry in remaining firmly rooted in authentic Catholic faith while embracing modern means of evangelization. Through his blessing and spiritual accompaniment, Ocean Star Ministries continues its mission of inviting ordinary people into daily evangelization and deeper communion with God.
